ISP’s block access to Child Pornography Sites

This is all well and good, but doesn’t come close to solving the problem. Consider USENET, which is a global network of news servers. Many ISP’s have a scaled-down version of newsgroup servers, but that does not stop a person from joining a private news server where there is absolutely no control over the content.

Now, many of the suppliers of child porn (and any kind of porn) use these newsgroups as a way to promote their own websites. Otherwise, most of the content on these servers is uploaded by users, not companies.

Furthermore, these files stored on these servers are encoded, so even if you were to shut down certain newsgroups, all the suppliers (and consumers) have to do is to rename their group and let everyone know.

In a free society, there is no way to control this, and there will never be a solution to this problem. Parents need to raise children who understand the value of purity. Parents need to know the friends and parents of their children to ensure that their peers are those who have similar values. Parents need to lock down their computers and network connections to prevent access to this content. Parents need to instill in their children a love of God, their bodies, and God’s plan for them.

Well, actually, there is a solution to this problem: parents!
