Horton: Catholic teens challenge Obama to find common ground on abortion: “Yet, there is middle ground, and it is the place where, according to the latest polls, 54 percent of Americans would prefer to stand. It isn’t a perfect place and is too gray for the black-and-white chatterboxes because the starting point is legal, but somewhat restricted, abortion rights.”
Middle ground, huh? I really think it’s sickening that people, especially Catholics, think there is a middle ground in the abortion issue. Let’s see how that might have worked with Hitler.
Allied Negotiator: Ok, let’s address this holocaust thing, where you are killing millions of lives who have done little or nothing to deserve death.
Hitler: Okidoki
Allied Negotiator: Since we are unable to resolve our differences, let’s get to some “common ground”. How does that sound?
Hitler: Okidoki
Allied Negotiator: Alright, let’s see. We want you to stop killing, but you don’t want to, so….how about we let you keep killing people, but only not as much. Can we try that?
Hitler: Okidoki
Yeah. Common ground is a good idea.

Good one!
There’s a little something that Conservative Catholics who like to compare Mr. Obama to Adolf Hitler need to know about the history in question, namely that Mr. Adolf Hitler was the very opposite of a liberal Democrat non-Catholic like Obama.
Rather he was a very conservative Roman Catholic whose views were very much closer to YOURS than to Barak Obama’s, i.e. he and the other leading Nazis all shared a great many of YOUR VIEWS, including opposition to abortion, to gays, to liberals, to separation of church and state, to secular education, to freedom of the press, etc., etc., as his own words make clear:
SS chief Heinrich Himmler, (a conservative Roman Catholic like Adolf Hitler, Josef Goebbels & Reinhard Heydrich) who was so instrumental in conducting the mass-murder of Jews wrote to Field-Marshal Wilhelm Keitel the following in 1939:
“According to statistics there are 600,000 abortions a year in Germany. The fact that these happen among the best German racial types has been worrying me for years. The way I see it we cannot afford to lose these young people, hundreds and thousands of them. The aim of protecting this German blood is of the highest priority. If we manage to stop these abortions we will be able to have 200 more German regiments every year on the march. Another 500,000 or 600,000 people could produce millions of marks for the economy. The strength of these soldiers and workers will build the greater Germany. This is why I founded Lebensborn in 1936. It fights abortions in a positive way. Every woman can have her child in peace and quiet and devote her life to the betterment of the race.”
“The national government will maintain and defend the foundations on which the power of our nation rests. It will offer strong protection to Christianity as the very basis of our collective morality. Today Christians stand at the head of our country. (As I show at JesusWouldBeFurious.Org/NaziLeadership.html
, the vast majority of the Nazi leadership were Roman Catholics). We want to fill our culture again with the Christian spirit. We want to burn out all the recent immoral developments in literature, in the theatre, and in the press-in short, we want to burn out the poison of immorality which has entered into our whole life and culture as a result of liberal excess during recent years.”
“As a Christian I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice . And if there is anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly, it is the distress that daily grows…
When I go out in the morning and see these men standing in their queues and look into their pinched faces, (today he might surely say, “when I see all these babies killed in their mothers’ wombs”) then I believe I would be no Christian, but a very devil, if I felt no pity for them, if I did not, as did our Lord two thousand years ago, turn against those by whom today this poor people are plundered and exploited.”
“I believe today that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator.” Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, p. 46
“The National Government will preserve and defend those basic principles on which our nation has been built up. It regards Christianity as the foundation of our national morality and the family as the basis of national life.”
We hold the spiritual forces of Christianity to be indispensable elements in the moral uplift of most of the German people. We hope to develop friendly relations with the Holy See” ( addressed the Reichstag on March 23, 1933)
“The Government of the Reich regards Christianity as the unshakable foundation of the morals and moral code of the nation.”
“The fact that the Vatican is concluding a treaty with the new Germany means the acknowledgement of the National Socialist state by the Catholic Church. This treaty shows the whole world clearly and unequivocally that the assertion that National Socialism [Nazism] is hostile to religion is a lie.” Adolf Hitler, 22 July 1933,
“The Church’s interests cannot fail to coincide with ours alike in our fight against the symptoms of degeneracy in the world of to-day, in our fight against the Bolshevist culture, against an atheistic movement, against criminality, and in our struggle for the consciousness of a community in our national life, for the conquest of hatred and disunion between the classes, for the conquest of civil war and unrest, of strife and discord. These are not anti-Christian, these are Christian principles.”
“If there is a God, then he gives us not only life but also consciousness and awareness. If I live my life according to my God-given insights, then I cannot go wrong, and even if I do, I know I have acted in good faith.” “I may not be a light of the church, a pulpiteer, but deep down I am a pious man, and believe that whoever fights bravely in defense of a natural law framed by God and never capitulates will never be deserted by the lawgiver, but will, in the end, receive the blessings of Providence.”
“Secular schools can never be tolerated because such schools have no religious instruction, and a general moral instruction without a religious foundation is built on air; consequently, all character training and religion must be derived from faith . . . we need believing people.”

Rev,
I agree with some of what you’re saying, but you’re missing the point of my post, which is probably my fault for not illustrating it clearly.
I’m not comparing Obama and his politics to Hitler, nor am I comparing liberals to Hitler. Furthermore, I’m not even comparing liberals to conservatives.
I’m comparing the assault on human life in the form of legal abortion to the ACTS of Hitler and the Nazi party in the form of their holocaust of millions of ethnic Europeans.
If you can delete the former, the following was proofread and improved:
Javier,
If you want to make such comparisons, there’s no way that you can fairly isolate some features, and ignore others that are equally relevant. The motives and the thinking of the two agents are central to the issue of whether the morality of abortion is comparable to the morality of the holocaust.
And what I tried to point out is that the motives and thinking of those who perpetrated the Jewish Holocaust was totally UNLIKE the motives and thinking of those who support the choice of abortion, and much MORE SIMILAR to the motives and thinking of the conservative Christians who now call themselves “pro-life”. The Nazis, too, opposed abortion and could have claimed as you do to be “pro-life”. But they proved that being in favor of protecting the life of the UNBORN has little if anything to do with protecting the life of the BORN. To the contrary, it’s LIBERALS who regularly fight to help the needy from BIRTH until DEATH, while CONSERVATIVES are constantly fighting against those liberals on any number of fronts, often choosing instead to be champions of the rich and the powerful, who are never content with the wealth and power they have already accumulated by always want more.
See why clergy who are Liberals like Christ like myself defend the rights of BORN women to choose abortion,
at http://LiberalsLikeChrist.Org/ChristianChoice/
“The motives and the thinking of the two agents are central to the issue of whether the morality of abortion is comparable to the morality of the holocaust.”
That’s just not true. The morality of the two events are comparable in their result, regardless of the rationale.
“’s LIBERALS who regularly fight to help the needy from BIRTH until DEATH, while CONSERVATIVES are constantly fighting against those liberals on any number of fronts, often choosing instead to be champions of the rich and the powerful, who are never content with the wealth and power they have already accumulated by always want more.”
I completely disagree. Liberals, in the PAST THIRTY YEARS, have an abysmal record of respecting life. Name one piece of legislation passed in the past thirty years that respects and honors the dignity of life.
And you’re statements about conservatives wanting more power are complete rhetoric. You’ve nothing to substantiate that claim and I can conversely use the same argument. In addition, it has nothing to do with the argument that the morality of the unnecessary deaths of millions of children is equated to the holocaust.
Women have no right to destroy the living being in their body any more than Hitler and his cronies had a right to slaughter millions of ethnic Europeans. Any clergy that can claim that right denies the presence of a living human being in the belly of a woman. If that’s your stance, then we worship a different God.
